Matthew 6:10 “…Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

The Father’s heart for His children is to live an abundantly full life. Jesus says in John 10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Experiencing increased fullness in every area of our lives is a part of heaven being established on earth.

Sometimes in the busyness of life it’s easy to lose sight of this fullness that the Father intends for us. Living with a mindset of abundance doesn’t mean that times in life can’t be hard, or that we don’t go through tough seasons. But it means that we refuse to accept less than the fullness the Father wants to give us as His loved ones.

In our marriage, we’ve chosen to partner with the kingdom Jesus described and call down the realities of heaven into our relationship. When we choose to believe in God’s plan for fullness, we are able to recognize and extinguish contrary beliefs or lies that try to stand in the way. It feels like a constant choice – choosing peace and hope. Even when we don’t understand everything in a given moment or season, heaven’s peace is the reality that we want operating in our marriage. We don’t have to accept hopelessness, despair, or disunity of any kind when those feelings come, because we have partnered with the kingdom of heaven whose greater reality is hope, peace, and unity.

Believing Jesus’ words about the kingdom applies so much to our family. As parents, the thought of being responsible for the life of another human can be overwhelming. As we raise our son, Ezra, we get to carry the Father’s perspective towards our family, knowing He leads us into wholeness, abundance, peace, unity, and love. We remind ourselves that we are lacking nothing in Him (Psalm 34:10) and we don’t have to work from our own strength to raise a healthy family. We believe that our choice to partner with truth and our desire to see Jesus glorified in everything we do invites Heaven to be expressed on earth through our family. It’s all about choosing to stay mindful of what Jesus has paid for and how this transforms our lives as a result. His promise of abundance affects our thoughts, words, reactions, and decisions everyday.

As you walk through life as a husband or wife, a mother or father, remind yourself constantly that the kingdom of Heaven is on your side. The Father wants to infuse the reality of the kingdom into your family. Romans 15 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.” Let’s not allow hopelessness to live in our families. Place your trust in Him, the One who extends peace and joy to His children. Let’s experience the fullness of heaven.
